About the EP “Candela”


Alsy's debut EP Candela is a veritable introspective fresco. Each track is skilfully interwoven to paint a portrait of a Franco-Chilean woman, deeply rooted in her time, sculpted by the nuances of her dual culture, who reveals the intensity of her feelings with delicacy and sensuality.

The prelude Paraíso inaugurates this intimate odyssey, with a rumbling storm, tropical rain and congas in the midst of a pure composition. Alsy invites us into a sanctuary at the foot of the Andes, on an elusive quest for a lost paradise. An opening track that foreshadows the main theme of this debut album, with its distinctly cinematic and magnetic atmosphere.

Echoing this introduction, Alsy invites us to explore her double culture. A labyrinthine quest for a long-distance, almost impossible love affair with the city of her childhood memories, Santiago sounds like an illusory chase through the streets of the capital. The EP's eponymous track, Candela, composed by Alsy and artist Jimmy Whoo, takes us along a desert road to the "Valley of the Moon" in northern Chilli. It's a suspended moment that has the effect of a strange bewitchment bordering on the mystical. This hypnotic whirlwind continues to take us to the very heart of Alsy's most intimate reflections. From a delicate bachata celebration of vulnerability on Sensitiva, to a confrontation with the contradictory feelings of disillusionment on low-tempo reggaeton Soledad, Alsy guides us through a poignant emotional dance. The last track concludes this first opus on a note of hope, hinting at a renewal with an unsettling inner power.

Co-produced with artists Jimmy Whoo, Rose and Peter Dallas, Alsy and his band offer a rich musical experience where emotions intertwine with finesse. A first EP rich in varied musical influences, between electronic pop and steamy reggaeton. The remixes on this album, featuring the participation of artist Dinamarca, gracefully complete the picture.
